OB Refresh Project
The WMC Obstetrics department ‘re-fresh project’ was funded through donations to the 2011 and 2012 WMC Foundation Annual Funds and WMC Auxiliary donations, and features accommodations to enhance patient stays, including private rooms with a home-like atmosphere, comfortable furniture, refrigerators, wifi technology and the HUGS & KISSES state-of-the-art security system. “The foundation is so pleased to provide support for the re-fresh project,” says Justin Gullekson, WMC Foundation president. “The gifts to the Annual Fund from our donors help WMC provide the special care every newborn and mother deserves.”
The WMC OB is a private, exclusive unit with a dedicated staff of registered nurses, including breastfeeding experts, a lactation consultant and car seat technicians. The OB department is equipped to handle planned and emergency c-sections, offers on-site respiratory therapy available 24-hours a day/seven days a week, on-site radiology to provide needed ultrasounds, and is equipped with a fetal monitoring system. All these services are wrapped with the experience and dedication that allows WMC OB to safely deliver over 200 babies each year.
