Walk-In Wellness Testing
Finances are tight; your health shouldn't suffer.
You may be considering shifting preventive health screenings to the bottom of your budget, but health care providers at Winneshiek Medical Center suggest they remain a top priority. Kristen Heffern, ARNP Occupational Health and Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner says, "Finding and treating conditions such as high cholesterol, abnormal thyroid, or elevated PSA levels in men can improve your chances of controlling the disease before it becomes a severe health risk- a benefit to your health and your pocketbook." To help patients monitor their health on a budget, Winneshiek Medical Center has introduced Walk-In Wellness Testing. Walk-In Wellness Testing is a service that allows people to have lab tests done without a doctor's written order. Heffern says, "This new service is available to anyone, but was created to benefit patients who are un- or underinsured, have high deductibles or Health Savings Accounts, need regular lab tests for medication refills, or for people who want to monitor their own health in an easy and convenient way." About Walk-In Wellness Testing:
Walk-In Wellness Testing is available from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday. Patients may enter through the Winneshiek Medical Center Main Entrance for registration and payment before proceeding to Lab for their selected tests.
