Winneshiek Medical Center Radiology offers advanced breast cancer screening and diagnostic services, including 3D mammography (including mammograms for women with implants), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsies, ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and surgical biopsies in a convenient, comforting environment.  Learn more about 3D mammograms available at Winneshiek Medical Center.

The American Cancer Society suggests:

  • A screening mammogram every year starting at age 40. If you have a family history of breast cancer, you should consult with your doctor for advice on when to begin a baseline mammogram.
  • A breast self-exam every month starting at age 20.
  • A clinical breast exam every year if you are age 40 or over; every 3 years for women age 20-39.
