One of the biggest New Year’s resolutions is to become healthier through better eating habits and/or daily exercise routines. For over seven years that has been a commitment for a group of local ladies. With the support of the Winneshiek Medical Center Calmar exercise class located at the WMC Calmar Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Clinic these ladies have been devoted to staying healthy and encouraging one another through the class.

“The average age of the class is 74 years old; they are the hardest working seniors I know that enjoy doing basic cardio, circuit training and pilates moves,” shares Heather Lange, ATC, WMC athletic trainer and course instructor.

The class meets twice a week on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8:00am – 9:00am; focusing on cardio, strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. The cost for one class is $5 or a 10 class punch pass can be purchased for $45. If you are interested in joining, or would like more information, contact WMC Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine at 563-387-3031.
