Cynthia See, Au.D., Mayo Clinic Health System audiologist at Winneshiek Medical Center Decorah Clinic

Winneshiek Medical Center is providing three free hearing screenings at area clinics to recognize October as National Audiology Awareness Month. The free screenings are scheduled for:

September 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Winneshiek Medical Center Decorah Clinic.

September 13, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Mabel Clinic in Mabel, MN, and

September 20, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Ossian Clinic in Ossian, IA.

These screenings are for people age 5 and older who are not currently being treated for hearing matters and appointments are required by calling one number for any location: 563-382-2911.

“Early detection of hearing loss is critical to preserving quality of life. We encourage anyone who has trouble hearing conversations in noisy environments, is unable to hear people talk without looking at them, or has a constant ringing or pain in the ears, to consider making an appointment for this free screening,” says Cynthia See, Au.D., Mayo Clinic Health System audiologist at Winneshiek Medical Center Decorah Clinic. The hearing test takes only a few minutes, and participants are given the results immediately. “It’s worth the effort to take advantage of these free screenings.”
