WMC Auxiliary awards scholarships to local students

The Winneshiek Medical Center Auxiliary recently awarded scholarships to eight local students pursuing health care professions at its annual spring brunch.

Receiving Auxiliary scholarships were Miriah Hageman, NICC for Nursing; Laura Francois, Des Moines University for Physical Therapy; Ryan Hageman, University of Iowa for Radiologic Technology; Anna Hovden, Grand View University for Nursing; Peggy Heiden, Chamberlain School of Nursing; Morgan Lensing, Allen College for Occupational Therapy; and Arianna Rausch, NICC for Nursing.

For the fifth year, the Auxiliary awarded the Helena Naef scholarship in addition to the Health Career Scholarship. The 2017 Helena Naef scholarship was awarded to Teeya Hovden, attending University of Iowa for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

The Winneshiek Medical Center Auxiliary offers their annual Health Career Scholarship to residents of Winneshiek County pursuing a health care profession. The applicant must be accepted into an accredited health career program to be eligible. Proceeds from the Auxiliary’s bakeless bake sale, spring brunch and holiday bake sale went toward the 2017 scholarship fund.
